SUGGESTED ATTIRE
PACKING NOTES:
-
In October, Japan averages highs of 68–73℉ and lows in the mid-50s to low 60s. Pack layers and a rain jacket for any scattered showers.
-
We’ll visit temples and shrines, so neat, casual clothing is required.
-
Overall, Japanese culture leans a bit more formal than in the West. Jeans and tennis shoes are fine, but note that men rarely wear shorts outside of sports, and women don’t often wear leggings unless for yoga.
-
For our trip to Kyoto, large luggage will be sent ahead the night before, since space is limited on the bullet train. Please bring a backpack large enough to fit your essentials (outfit, toiletries, makeup) for that day.
